Our Story
January 2024
We welcome our interns Mrs Mberema Elisabeth and Mrs Mampi Simasiku to the Wapa-Nawa team. For six weeks the students of the University of Namibia, B.Sc. Intergrated Environmental Science, will enhance their theoretical knowledge about plastic pollution through hands on learning about recycling.

The inauguration of our new building was a great success, the Major of Rundu was present to honour Wapa-Nawa and celebrate our accomplishments.

Namibia's first office building made from recycled materials is completed!
November 2023
we are busy with our production of pavers and bricks. We recently delivered and installed an oder of 5000 pavers.

Wapa-Nawa won first prize in the Old Mutual Foundation & UNDP Accelerator Lab, a price given to innovative start ups focusing on sustainability and empowerment.

We were invited to present at Unam University of Namibia to educate about the Importance of Waste Management in the Health Care System.
May 2023
We are currently building Nambia's first office building made from recycled plastic bricks to demonstrate their durability and strenght. The bricks are easy to install because they are held together with the normal cement mixture and can be plastered like traditional bricks as well.
April 2023
We welcome Mr Sebalt Katembo to the Team. Mr Katembo previously worked at DeBeers Mine and is applying the skills he acquired to assist with streamlining the production line, efficiency and safety.

Our CEO Ladislaus Shikerete got invited by the President of Namibia to travel to Washington DC for the USA-Africa Summit, to represent Namibia.
November 2022
Wapa-Nawa won the Sustainability Excellence Award sponsored by the Namibian Investment Promotion and Development Board.

Wapa-Nawa was invitd to present at the Green Economy for the Kavango Region summit

We won a recycling igloo sponsored by Coca-Cola through the recycling forum of Namibia competition.
